Presentation of Google Posts
What is a Google post?
Google Posts are short, visual publications that a business can post for free on its Google Business Profile. These posts allow businesses to share news, offers, events, and other content with Google users.
Why publish Google posts?
To personalize and enhance the attractiveness of the Business Profile to prospects by sharing its news, events, and promotions.
Also to increase local visibility: the business will achieve better local search results on Google by posting regularly, thereby attracting more new customers.
Where do Google posts appear?
Google Posts generally appear at the bottom of the Google Business Profile, with some variations depending on the navigation source and the device used.
- For a Google search on a computer: before the "Related Searches" section, which is the last element highlighted in the profile
- For a Google search on mobile: at the bottom of the Google Business Profile and in the "From the Owner" highlight section
- In Google Maps on a computer: right after the information
- In Google Maps on mobile: at the very bottom of the profile, and also in the "Updates" "From the Owner" highlight section
Creating Google Post templates in Placeloop
What do I need to create a Google Post template in Placeloop ?
An image with a minimum size of 250 x 250 pixels. Google automatically crops the image into a square to ensure good visibility. Animated GIFs and videos are not supported.
An attractive text between 100 and 300 words. The first 100 characters are important; they should convey the essence of your message or entice users to click to see the rest of the post. Like on social media, feel free to use emojis. However, be careful not to insert a variable for the phone number in the text because Google reserves certain CTA buttons for this purpose and may reject the post if this is not followed.
Note: Posts are by default of the "News" type.
Please note that Google may reject the post publication for your locations in certain cases. Make sure to:
- NOT TO insert variables for phone numbers or URLs in the text, as Google reserves specific CTA buttons for that purpose
- NOT TO include URLs or too much text in the image
- Avoid using images that are too dark
Information : the hashtags are not useful. If you create a Google post at the same time you create a Facebook / Instagram post, use the customization by type. |
